Join Relentless Church as we visit and serve our ministry partners in La Ceiba, Honduras November 11-18.

• Compassion International – Compassion International is a Christian child development organization dedicated to releasing children from poverty. Our ministry to children is twofold: We work through local churches to provide child development programs to deliver children from economic, physical, social and spiritual poverty, enabling them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. And we speak out for children in poverty – informing, motivating and equipping others to become advocates for children. Scheduling details and activities are still being planned. Sponsors will be able to meet their sponsored child at the La Ceiba center.
• Give Hope 2 Kids – a non-profit, Christian organization working near La Ceiba, Honduras to care for kids who were once abandoned or abused. We are not an orphanage – the main word to describe our ministry is FAMILY. We’re all about kids growing up in loving families. We believe that this is the best way to help kids heal from trauma and to discover God’s love for themselves, as they experience the love of family. We’re also big on giving kids a great education to help them succeed in life, both for our kids and for our wider community, this is why many of our groups help us “makeover” village schools.
  • Construction projects, village school makeovers, maintenance, educational/VBS activities with kids – specific projects will be provided based on our group’s abilities
    • Updates to the homes at our first campus in the mountains: light construction, drop ceilings, painting, etc.
    • Finishing our Counseling Center: painting, murals, set-up.
    • Construction of our next kids’ home
  • Team size up to 15 people, anyone under 15 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Work starts at 7 AM (CST so feels like 8 AM)

LOGISTICS

• Flight: Fly into San Pedro Sula (Approximately 4 hour drive to La Ceiba) 
• Passport & Immunizations: Must have a valid passport that is at least 1 month from expiration before entering Honduras. Must have current Tetanus shot and recommend immunization against Hepatitis A.
• Location: We will be staying at the Give Hope 2 Kids campus for the duration of our trip. From the airport in San Pedro Sula we’ll provide you with bus transportation to get to us. We are located near La Ceiba. The Roma Campus is a 4-hour trip from the airport. The Urraco Campus is 5 hours from the airport, including 25 miles down a very bumpy dirt road.
• Accommodations: The teams will typically stay in dormitory-style homes with bunk beds on our property. Let us know if there are any married couples in the group and we may be able to room them together. There will be bathrooms with toilets, sinks, and showers. (Please tell your group members that they cannot flush toilet paper here.) We also have a full kitchen for food preparation and meals.
• Food: Food will be a mixture of US fare and typical Honduran food, depending on the meal and the cook. We will make sure the team gets to eat at a Honduran restaurant on at least one occasion. We can accommodate food allergies (but not food preferences) if we are informed in advance. We will clean fruits and vegetables in purified water and do our best to keep people healthy. Please be aware though, that it is still possible for people to get a little sick. Even the good bacteria here are different from those in the US and can upset stomachs. Often it is a case of food being different, but not bad. Again, we will do our best to keep everyone healthy.
• Water We will provide purified drinking water that is safe for the team to drink. It is important, however, that the team members bring a water bottle to use while they are here.

COSTS: $1700 – $2000 / person
*A fixed cost within the above range will be provided once we have booked plane tickets (May) and confirmed group size.

TIMELINE:

• April 28, 2024 – $500 Deposit Due (if you need to split this deposit up, please contact Raf@relentlesschurch.cc)
• Booking flights first week of May
• Final payment due October 11, 2024
