Cookies for Kairos

March 2 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Kairos is a ministry whose mission is to develop a Christian community inside prisons. The program brings leaders together, in both male and female institutions, for a 3 ½ day Weekend led by same gender Kairos volunteers. The Weekend is based on: a series of talks, discussions, chapel meditations, and creating a Christian community. For many participants, the Kairos Weekend creates the desire to become a Christian, and for others the desire to continue their spiritual growth.

We’re asking you to partner with us by praying for the group of volunteers and by praying for the incarcerated participants. Stop by the Kairos table in the front lobby to sign the prayer chain.  Another way you can help is by baking cookies. PLEASE RETURN COOKIES BY SUNDAY, MARCH 2. As you might expect – there are a lot of rules and details related to the cookies. Please download COOKIE GUIDELINES HERE and let us know how many cookies you plan to contribute HERE.

Kairos has often been referred to as the “cookie ministry”.  Homemade cookies are a small thing to us on the outside, but to someone who has been incarcerated for a long time, they are priceless.  The fact that someone cared enough to actually bake a cookie for them is profound.  The Kairos team uses these cookies to help show the love of Christ from their outside brothers and sisters in Christ.  Cookies Save Lives… Really. – YouTube
